Hey there, we’re Maffi & Willie.

Amano was born in 2024, but its roots go back much further. After years of managing plant shops and starting my own journey through pop-ups and markets, I fell in love with the connection that comes from sharing nature with others. Getting to know our community, hearing people’s stories, and helping them bring greenery into their homes made me realize that plants are more than just décor—they’re a way to create warmth, joy, and a sense of belonging.

At the same time, Willie’s passion for coffee was growing. His love for the craft, the ritual, and the way a good cup brings people together felt so similar to what I loved about plants. So, we decided to blend our passions and create something special—a place where nature, coffee, and community come together.

Amano is more than just a shop; it’s an extension of what brings us joy. It’s about slowing down, appreciating the little things, and creating a space where people feel connected—to nature, to themselves, and to each other. Whether you're here to find the perfect plant, enjoy a thoughtfully brewed cup of coffee, or just soak in the atmosphere, we hope you feel at home.

MEET THE TEAM

Piper

Piper is a coffee and plant enthusiast who loves crafting up delicious drinks, talking about plants, and connecting with customers. She is also an artist who draws inspiration from the natural world to create her fish and wildlife artwork. If she is not serving up coffee or painting at her easel, she can be found fly-fishing in the mountains of Colorado.
Bridget

Bridget is an avid reader and small-time published author who would love to chat either when you come in and visit! She splits her time between Amano and freelance event production, and is a perpetually curious person (sometimes mistaken for nosy), which is why she loves working as a barista so much— getting to know people is one of her favorite hobbies. If she’s not talking movies, coffee, or books, she will probably try to discuss the weather with you, like most Coloradans.
Kendra

Kendra is a 7th generation CO native and will proudly share that fact with anyone (clearly). She has slowly fallen in love with the mountains here and feels the most at peace when she can do something far away from the busy urban world. Despite them feeling like a form of punishment in the moment, you can probably find her hiking a 14er during the summer months or exploring different mountain towns. She loves to take care of plants, practice photography, drink coffee and spend quality time with her cat. Also, if she is not wearing green, she is probably not okay.
Olivia

Liv is a photographer based in Evergreen, capturing the wild beauty of the mountains and beyond. Off camera, she’s a plant enthusiast, turquoise jewelry collector, and always on the hunt for one-of-a-kind western pieces at thrift stores. Liv loves connecting with people over a good cup of coffee and sharing stories.
